Comparing RO, UV, and UF Water Purifiers: Which is Best for Your Delhi Home?

If you live in Delhi, choosing the right water purifier can be confusing. There are so many options—RO, UV, and UF—and all of them claim to be the best. I had the same confusion when I was looking for a purifier for my home.

Understanding Delhi’s Water Quality

One thing I noticed is that water quality isn’t the same everywhere in Delhi. In some areas, the water has a high TDS level, while in others the issue is more about contamination. In my case, the water tasted slightly salty, which usually means high TDS.

That’s when I started looking into the differences between RO, UV, and UF and which is the best water purifier for home.

RO Water Purifier

RO systems are usually recommended when the TDS level is high.

  • Helps reduce dissolved salts
  • Improves taste
  • Makes hard water more usable

In many parts of Delhi, this becomes the practical choice.

UV Water Purifier

UV purifiers are more about killing bacteria and viruses.

  • Works well if water is already clear
  • Does not reduce TDS
  • Better for low TDS areas

So, it’s useful only in specific conditions.

UF Water Purifier

UF is more of a basic filtration option.

  • Removes visible particles
  • Can work without electricity
  • Suitable for relatively clean water

But for poor water quality, it’s usually not enough on its own.

What Worked for Me

After comparing all three, I felt that for most Delhi homes, an RO or RO+UV setup works better. Just going for UV or UF didn’t seem reliable in my case.

Another thing I learned the hard way is that buying a purifier is only part of the job. Proper installation and regular servicing matter just as much.

Why Service Matters

If servicing is ignored, problems start showing up:

  • Water flow becomes slow
  • Taste changes
  • Filters get clogged
  • The machine doesn’t last long

I noticed a clear difference once I switched to a proper service provider.

My Experience with a Local Service

I ended up going with a local option like Kemfotech RO service. What I liked was that they didn’t rush things. They checked the water, explained the situation, and then suggested what would work better.

They also handled installation and follow-up servicing, so I didn’t have to deal with multiple people.

Final Thought

There isn’t one “best” purifier for everyone.

  • High TDS → RO
  • Low TDS + germs → UV
  • Basic needs → UF

But in the long run, what really matters is proper setup and regular maintenance.

If you’re in Delhi, it’s better to first understand your water and then choose a purifier along with a service provider you can rely on.
